KEEP ELAWA GROWING INITIATIVE

Keep Elawa Growing is a $150,000 fundraising campaign to support Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission during the 2020 harvest season.

This community-supported initiative will provide critical funding to cover revenue losses from 2020 fundraising event and programming cancellations.

Your charitable contribution ensures that Elawa Farm Foundation advances its mission to enrich our community as a unique center for hands-on learning & inspire an appreciation for gardening, healthy living, and historic preservation.

We know this is a difficult time for the entire community, and at Elawa Farm Foundation, we are doing our best to adapt and remain responsive. Despite it all, we carry on in our mission to steward the land, preserve our historic campus, and foster a sense of community.

Typically, this time of year, we would be looking forward to celebrating the season at our events. After careful consideration, we have decided to cancel our 2020 fundraising events, including our annual Beer Garden and Harvest Dinner. In lieu of these events, Elawa Farm Foundation will embark on a public fundraising campaign to raise critical funding to cover revenue losses from event and programming cancellations.

Your investment will enable us to:

  • Preserve our historic and architecturally significant farm campus
  • Steward the land, increase biodiversity, and support pollinator habitat by using sustainable growing and landscaping practices
  • Develop plans to expand our garden and bring more food to community members’ tables
  • Donate our fresh harvest to families in Lake County who are experiencing food insecurity during this difficult time
  • Support local farmers and food producers by sourcing their products in our Garden Market and Kitchen
  • Design a Farm Dinner program series with our new Resident Chef, Steven LoTempio. Funds will support the purchase and upgrade of necessary equipment, such as kitchen appliances and tableware.
  • Offer community-driven programming to enrich the lives of our neighbors
  • Provide education and hands-on experience to interns & volunteers with an interest in small-scale agriculture

As a nonprofit organization, Elawa Farm Foundation relies on the generosity of donors to provide the continued historic restoration of the garden, the buildings, and to grow our programs and educational opportunities.  Your support makes all the difference in our progress. As we recently celebrated the farm's centennial, we are looking forward to our next 100 years.  Please help us continue to grow.

Please note, you can make your donation in one lump sum or make a monthly, recurring donation.
