A Lake Forest local, Davis grew up exploring the nearby preserves with friends and family. He is a self-taught cook and is passionate about local produce and their farmers. Davis attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. After graduating Davis spent a year traveling and working in different restaurants across the country, including the Big Island of Hawaii. Most recently, he worked under Chef Cesar Murillo at North Pond and has staged at multiple Michelin starred restaurants in Chicago. While he does not have a formal culinary education, Davis hopes to incorporate his design education with an experience based career to elevate his own craft, and contribute to the food’s preparation and presentation at Elawa.
