Farm Animals
Our farm animal area is open for the public to visit daily from 9 am – 4 pm.
Reintroducing Animals to Elawa Farm
In 2024, Elawa Farm built a barn and pasture area to return farm animals to our historic property. Our farm animals provide public education, enjoyment, and culinary uses for our kitchen. Our next phase will be the development of an animal therapy program for community members with disabilities.
-
Goats
Our dwarf Nigerian goats are curious, nimble creatures with mischievous personalities! They often gather near the fence, eagerly waiting for visitors to stop by to say hello.
-
Ducks
We have several varieties of ducks of all colors that love to spend time swimming and drinking from our small duck pool as well as making cheerful quacks. Their eggs are used by our kitchen staff.
-
Chickens
Like our ducks, we have several breeds of chickens that move about their coop dust bathing, riding on a swing, or resting quietly. Their eggs are used by our kitchen staff.
Sponsor Our Ducks & Chickens
Sponsor our ducks and chickens for the 2024 season. Your sponsorship will support the cost of the flock’s feed, supplies, and educational materials for programs. Sponsorship benefits includes naming the duck or chicken for the season, photo opportunity with your bird, and a half-dozen eggs.
