Sustainable Pest and Disease Management
Saturday, April 4 10 am - 11 am
Join our Edible Garden Specialist, Elaine Madansky, for an in-depth workshop on maintaining a healthy, thriving garden through effective pest and disease management. This class will cover essential topics, including Integrated Pest Management (IPM), identifying common garden pests and diseases, implementing preventative cultural practices, exploring non-chemical control methods, and understanding the responsible use of pesticides. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced gardener, this class will provide valuable insights to help you protect and sustain your garden naturally.

April Showers & Watercolor Flowers with Evelyn Phelps
Tuesday, April 7 1 pm - 4 pm
Join us for a relaxing afternoon of painting loose watercolor flowers. We will be painting a variety of flowers in a vase. You will learn the basic structure of several flowers while working on watercolor techniques.
This class is for all skill levels and no previous experience needed. You will leave with a completed painting!! -

Market Vegetable Forward with Chef Mickey Knutson (Demo Cooking Class)
Tuesday, April 14 6 pm - 9 pm
Celebrate the abundance of the season with a menu that puts fresh market vegetables at the center of the plate. In this demo cooking class, Chef Mickey will prepare a delicious three-course meal while sharing tips for highlighting seasonal produce, building layers of flavor, and creating satisfying vegetable-forward dishes.
We’ll begin with a warm morel & spring onion tart made with nutty gruyere and flaky pastry. The main course features a rich and comforting wild mushroom & barley risotto finished with asparagus tips, parmesan, and fragrant herb oil. To end the evening, enjoy a classic carrot cake with walnut & cream cheese frosting.

April Showers Supper with Chef Mickey Knutson (Demo Cooking Class)
Tuesday, April 21 6 pm - 9 pm
Embrace the cozy comforts of the season with this spring-inspired demo cooking class. As April brings cooler evenings and fresh growth, Chef Mickey will prepare a warm and satisfying three-course menu that highlights comforting flavors and simple techniques perfect for early spring cooking.
We’ll begin with a silky leek & potato velouté, finished with fragrant chive oil and crispy shallots. The main course features braised beef short ribs, served with tender spring carrots and creamy mashed potatoes. To end the evening on a sweet note, enjoy a decadent warm chocolate pudding cake paired with smooth crème anglaise.

Spring Lamb Supper with Chef Mickey Knutson (Demo Cooking Class)
Tuesday, April 28 6 pm - 9 pm
Join Chef Mickey for a comforting and elegant spring-inspired menu in this demo cooking class. Chef will guide you through the preparation of a beautifully balanced three-course meal, sharing techniques for roasting meats, building bright seasonal flavors, and creating simple yet impressive dishes perfect for entertaining.
Chef will begin with a refreshing shaved fennel & arugula salad tossed with sweet orange, toasted hazelnuts, and pecorino. The main course features slow-roasted leg of lamb, served with herb-infused white beans and roasted carrots. To finish, enjoy a tender olive oil cake with lemon & thyme, topped with a light mascarpone cream.

An Evening with James Beard Award-winning author Nancy Matsumoto
Wednesday, April 29 6 pm - 8 pm
Join Elawa Farm Foundation and Artisan Grain Collaborative for an engaging conversation with Nancy Matsumoto, author of Reaping What She Sows: How Women Are Rebuilding our Broken Food System.
The evening will begin with a reception of appetizers and drinks, followed by a panel conversation led by Nancy Matsumoto. Attendees will receive an autographed copy of the book.
The panel conversation will feature four women working in the regional grain ecosystem, including:

Join Chef Mickey for a comforting and flavorful demo cooking class that brings classic pub favorites to the next level. Learn how simple ingredients and classic techniques can transform familiar comfort foods into dishes worthy of any dinner table.
The menu begins with warm pretzel bites served with whole-grain mustard and creamy beer cheese. For the main course, enjoy a hearty guinness-braised beef & onion pie paired with herbed mashed potatoes and roasted cabbage. Join our cut flower expert, Elaine Madansky, for an immersive workshop in sustainable cut flower gardening. This class will walk you through every stage of cut flower garden management, from planning and planting to harvesting and post-harvest care. Learn eco-friendly techniques for starting seeds, providing plant support, pinching, deadheading, harvesting, and storing a diverse selection of cut flowers. New England Coastal Kitchen with Chef Mickey Knutson (Demo Cooking Class)
Monday, May 18 6 pm - 9 pm
Join Chef Mickey for a seasonal cooking demonstration celebrating the fresh, coastal flavors of New England in the springtime. In this relaxed and engaging class, Chef will prepare a classic three-course menu while sharing techniques and tips for creating comforting seafood dishes and timeless desserts at home.
We’ll begin with a light New England clam chowder finished with fragrant chive oil. The main course features roasted cod with brown butter & herbs, served with fingerling potatoes and fresh asparagus. To end the evening on a sweet note, enjoy a traditional blueberry buckle topped with freshly whipped cream.

Season's Turning Supper with Chef Mickey Knutson (Demo Cooking Class)
Tuesday, May 26 6 pm - 9 pm
Transition from spring to summer with a fresh, seasonal menu highlighting vibrant vegetables and comforting favorites. In this demo class, Chef Mickey will prepare a delicious three-course meal while sharing tips for bringing out the best flavors of the season.
We’ll begin with burrata with roasted spring vegetables, featuring sweet peas, crisp radishes, and tender asparagus. The main course is crispy skin chicken thighs served over creamy polenta with sautéed spinach. To finish, enjoy a classic strawberry shortcake made with sweet cream biscuits and fresh strawberries.

Challah & Rugelach with Micah Siva

Join award winning cookbook author Micah Siva for a hands-on baking experience celebrating two Jewish classics, golden challah and buttery chocolate and date rugelach using two shaping techniques. You'll take home a loaf of challah to bake at home and a dozen rugelach.

Rainbow Fish: My Grown-Up & Me Cupcake Decorating
Saturday, April 11 12 pm - 2 pm
Join Annalise Atilano of Sweet B’s Bakeshop for a sweet and creative decorating experience designed for little ones and their grown-ups. In this hands-on class, you and your child will learn the basics of cupcake decorating while creating your own colorful Rainbow Fish–inspired cupcakes. Annalise will guide everyone step-by-step through simple decorating techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment, making it easy and fun for even the youngest decorators to participate.
Each ticket includes six cupcakes to decorate (one shared set per grown-up and child pair). Together you’ll practice simple buttercream piping, add fondant and candy decorations, and create bright, shimmering rainbow fish designs. This class is perfect for beginners and young bakers. It’s all about creativity, connection, and making sweet memories together. Ages 2 and up are welcome, and each child attending must have a ticket (one grown up included per ticket.

Yoga on the Farm
Saturdays, April- August 9 am - 10 am
Unroll your mat and enjoy the scenery of Elawa Farm’s restored gardens as our Yoga Instructor guides you on an hour-long yoga journey. This class is a blend of many styles of yoga, such as gentle, restorative, power, and vinyasa flow. We'll start off at a slower pace to meditate, breathe, check in with our current state of being, and increase the pace to build heat and let go of energy that no longer serves us. All levels welcomed. Modifications are offered so each human can choose their level of movement needed. The end goal is for your heart to smile, your mind to find peace, and your body to thank you!!

Goat Yoga

Fairy Garden Cupcake Decorating
Sunday, May 17 12 pm - 2 pm
Step into a world of whimsy with Annalise Atilano of Sweet B’s Bakeshop in this hands-on cupcake decorating class designed for ages 9 and up. In Fairy Garden Cupcake Decorating, you’ll learn the fundamentals of decorating while creating your own magical woodland scene on cupcakes. No experience is necessary, our instructor will guide you step-by-step through each technique in a relaxed and supportive environment, making it fun and approachable for beginners and budding bakers alike.
During class, you’ll learn how to fill and use a piping bag, practice buttercream techniques to create grassy textures, and add edible “moss” details for a forest-inspired look. You’ll also shape and decorate charming fondant toadstools to bring your fairy garden to life. By the end of class, you’ll leave with a set of whimsical cupcakes that look like they came straight out of a storybook. All supplies are provided, and you’ll take home your finished creations along with the confidence to recreate these techniques at home. -

Feathery Friends

Come meet our curious and friendly chickens on a guided visit with Assistant Farm Manager, Georgia DeSilva! This hands-on experience will enable you to observe our chickens up close, learn about their unique personalities, and feed and pet them. This is an enjoyable and interactive experience for animal lovers of all ages!

Adventures at Elawa
Wednesday, April 8 12 pm 1:15 pm
Spring is here, and it’s time to dig in! In this hands-on gardening class, our youngest farmers will explore the magic of planting as we sow carrots and spinach seeds in the garden.
Children will learn what plants need to grow, practice using gentle “gardener hands,” and help prepare the soil before planting their very own rows of seeds. We’ll talk about how carrots grow underground and how spinach sprouts leafy greens above the soil. We will be getting our hands dirty so please come dressed appropriately.
This is a drop off class for kids age 3-5 years old.

Adventures at Elawa

Get ready to explore the farm like a true little adventurer! In this interactive scavenger hunt, children will journey through all areas of the farm searching for clues, spotting animals, discovering plants, and exploring the gardens along the way. At the end of our adventure, children will uncover a special farm surprise waiting just for them!
