The Garden
Restored to the original layout from 1918, the Garden at Elawa Farm produces more than 9,000 pounds of sustainably grown fruits, vegetables, and cutting flowers each season. More than two acres are cultivated each season through the hard work of the Elawa Farm Foundation team and volunteers. The Garden is also home to a historic root cellar, several beehives, and a demonstration chicken coop.

Our Harvest
Each season, our fresh harvest is offered to the public at our weekly Garden Market, CSA program, and to wholesale customers, including local restaurants and grocers.
-
Food Access
In response to the pandemic, our garden was expanded by 30% to fight food insecurity in Lake County. Hundreds of pounds of fresh produce are donated each year to food pantry partners.
-
Discovery Garden
Our Discovery Garden is an ADA accessible learning garden to host educational programs as well as build greater accessibility and inclusivity on our farm grounds.
Our Growing Practices
Striving towards sustainability, the Garden utilizes practices such as field rotation, cover cropping, beneficial predation, and organic composting. The Garden also hosts several honeybee hives, which helps to pollinate our crops and flowers. We also use sustainable landscaping practices such as drip irrigation to reduce water use, and do not use any herbicides to treat our lawn.
