About Linda Rivera

Linda was born and raised in the city of Chicago, until she was 15 when her family moved to Ohio. After graduation she moved back to Chicago and attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Chicago, where she received a degree in Cooking and Hospitality. Since then, Linda has worked in various culinary and hospitality positions at restaurants and hotels and was a personal chef for 8 years. Although she enjoyed cooking, she knew that working with kids was what she was meant to do. Linda returned to school to study early childhood education at North Park University and then transferred to Northeastern Illinois University, where she received a degree in Communication, Media, and Theater.

Over the last decade, Linda has worked as a nanny and personal chef, and most recently as a Lab Coordinator with the University of Chicago’s Lindau Lab. She is excited to be working with kids as the Program Manager at Elawa Farm Foundation. Linda looks forward to educating youth and adults in gardening, cooking, wellness, and more. In her free time, she enjoys binge watching a good tv series, spending time with her family, and teaching her niece and two nephews how to speak Spanish to make sure they become fluent speakers (like Linda!).
