Organization Overview:
The Cafe at Elawa Farm offers breakfast, lunch, coffee service, weekend brunch, and kid friendly options. The Cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday from 8am to 3pm. Our menu is seasonal, highlighting our farm’s produce as well as local farmer food.
Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food system. We gather community through food and agriculture with community-based programs and events.
Elawa is a tip-free organization with all hourly staff paid a flat hourly rate.
Key responsibilities:
Operate the register (using Toast point-of-sale system) to run customer transactions.
Greet market customers in a friendly manner, answer questions, and provide menu details.
Provide excellent customer service and hospitality.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Food handler card
Requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
Reports to: Barista/Cafe Lead
Supervises: N/A
Status: Hourly, non-exempt
Compensation: $17/hr, roughly 25 to 40 hours a week
