Event Server
Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food system. We gather community through food and agriculture with community-based programs and events.
Job Overview: As an Event Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to guests during events, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality service in accordance with the event's standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Interaction: Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.
Food and Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages according to event specifications and established protocols, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are maintained.
Setup and Breakdown: Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables and chairs, setting up buffet stations, and ensuring the venue is clean and orderly before, during, and after events.
Attention to Detail: Pay close attention to detail to ensure all guest requests and specifications are fulfilled accurately and that the event space is presented impeccably.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other event staff, including servers, bartenders, and event coordinators, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of events.
Problem Solving: Anticipate and address any issues or concerns that may arise during events, ensuring quick and effective resolution to maintain guest satisfaction.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Follow all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations, to ensure the smooth operation of events and the well-being of guests and staff.
Upselling and Promotion: Promote additional services or products to guests when appropriate, such as recommending specialty cocktails or dessert options, to enhance their overall experience and increase revenue.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a similar role preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift to 50 pounds. Basset certification if serving alcohol

Reports to: Event Captain or Event Manager
Compensation: $25/hour, non-exempt
